Master Koretoshi Maruyama has appointed Michael Williams Sensei as the Chief Instructor of Aikido Yuishinkai International. In this role, he acts as facilitator for the expansion of Aikido Yuishinkai International and makes available the resources necessary to disseminate information to affiliated dojos around the world. Assisting in this role are Elisabeth Andel, multimedia coordinator and Valerie Williams, correspondence and promotions. ResourcesA comprehensive body of resources exists to enable Instructors and dojos to gain understanding and insight into Maruyama Sensei's teachings and the requirements of the organisation. These resources include documents, books, videos, DVDs, as well as correspondence via email. Seminars:Regular seminars taught by Maruyama Sensei and Williams Sensei can be arranged by contacting Michael Williams Sensei. Seminars costs include: the travel component, accommodation costs and Sensei's fee. All efforts will be made to keep these costs to a minimum. Travellers to Japan please note: Over the past year, there has been quite an increase in the number of instructors and students visiting Maruyama Sensei in Japan. Master Koretoshi MaruyamaWorld Tour Seminars 2006now on DVD (set of 4)Master Koretoshi Maruyama teaches Aikido as a truly evolving art. This year he goes back to O'Sensei's roots in Daito Ryu, and by adding his lighthearted demonstrations of ‘Yuishin' (‘Mind Itself'), he joyfully transmits the feeling of exhilaration of Aikido Yuishinkai to his students. Sensei teaches additional ways to increase our sensitivity for improved timing and relaxed, mental ‘merging' with our opponent in the execution of techniques. We thus learn the merging of ki with the mechanics of overcoming ‘stronghold' attacks. Sensei also shows techniques to develop and strengthen the 'inner muscle' and divulges more of the secrets of the ancient sword schools of Ittou Ryu and Shinkage Ryu . A highlight of the seminar is his instruction of ‘Sangakuyen no tachi' , a Shinkage Ryu kata, the teaching of which is shown in detail. Maruyama sensei encourages us to train the kata, so that he may continue with extensions during the next visits. The 4 DVDs were compiled from seminars recorded in the UK, Holland, Germany, USA and Australia.

The Healing Art of Aikido
Volume 1 and 2
Master Koretoshi Maruyama.
In Yuki Volume 1 Maruyama Sensei teaches Theory of Ki and Ki Development, the practice of Katsugen Undo, Yuki, Spiral Yuki, breathing , body connecting exercises and exercises to increase the suppleness and strength of the body. (90 min)
Yuki Volume 2 expands further the topic of Ki and Ki Development. Maruyama Sensei teaches many more applications of Yuki, more exercises for body connection, breathing exercises as well as extensive exercises for all parts of the body. He discusses and demonstrates the importance of being at one with the universe by working with the force of gravity rather than against it, humans representing a microcosm of the universe, and the Tanden ball being the center of gravity of the body. Therefore the development of a strong Tanden, the resonance of ki, and the importance of the Triceps and exhalation are emphasised and specific exercises are taught in this regard.
